Escort: Escort (Tirk Recordings)

Tirk Recordings has signed another biggie again. The 18 piece outfit Escort is probably the only band that really plays disco like it should sound in 2011. It's neither retro nor cliche, just pure funky and hooky. The album will come out in November and will definitely be a floor filler for the next few months at least.

Tropics: Parodia Flare

2011 seems to be the year of Chillwave. Quite a stupid genre name, but from Chad Valley to Washed Out or Numbers there's a common theme attached. Also Tropics' aka Chris Ward's first album falls into this pigeon hole. Nicely dark chopped up and reverbed sound textures that can be enjoyed at home or your favourite drinking hole.
